Torquay, The English Riviera

Three seaside towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham make Torbay, also known as The English Riviera. Each is distinctive in style offering a huge variety of things to do. These attractive resort towns on the South Devon coastline really do offer something for everyone, all year round!

Torbay gained the alias The English Riviera from its favourable climate, beautiful coastline and Mediterranean feel.  The 22 miles of coastline is dotted with sandy beaches, high cliffs hiding little-known coves, and some of the best walks in England.

Attracting visitors of all ages and interests throughout the year, Torbay boasts a wide range of entertainments and amenities in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. For the active and adrenaline junkies, The English Riviera is not only a place to relax and soak up the atmosphere but also to take part in many exciting activities such as jet skiing, diving, fishing and other sporting activities. The night life is also superb. Whether you're looking for a romantic evening meal or a night on the town, Torbay has something to suit all ages including The Princess Theatre, Babbacombe Theatre, Kents Cavern, Paignton Zoo, Living Coasts, Babbacombe Model Village, and Paignton Steam Railway.

The main Torquay beach, Torre Abbey Sands, is just a short flat walk from The Corbyn and just beyond, the Princess Theatre, popular Torquay harbour-side and Torquay Tourist Information Centre are also within easy reach.

During the summer months regular events include the Torbay Week regatta, tall ship races, power boat racing, firework displays, Red Arrows display team spectacles, and the traditional sea side fun fair, which visits Torquay seafront.
